Short fibres gather and twist into a fine yarn that spins thinner and thinner — then integrates directly into a tight, durable knit.
01 — Loose fibre
Recovered cotton fibres are short and spiky — on their own they break apart easily.
02 — Twisted into yarn
The fibres are twisted together with many twists per inch, then spun thinner and thinner into a strong, fine yarn.
03 — Knitted tight
Thin yarn integrates into a dense, tight knit - minimal holes and gaps. That structure is what makes it soft and durable.
Why thinner yarn wins.
Most factories can spin recycled cotton yarn thick to prevent it from breaking apart, so the knit is looser and weaker. It's less durable. Ours spins thin enough to knit tight.
Standard recycled cotton
Thick yarn can't be knit tightly. The looser knit leave holes and pockets - weaker fabric that pills and wears through.
Modus91 recycled cotton
Thin yarn knits dense and tight — no holes. The interlocked structure is softer to the touch and far more durable.
